Five screens where a salon website loses the booking

A client choosing a lash lift or a facial checks the same five things, usually on a phone and usually in a hurry. Here is the scene on most salon sites, and what each one quietly costs.

Service menu Sample design, fictional business
  1. Service menu

The menu still shows last year's salon

What it costs. A therapist who left two seasons ago, a facial you stopped offering, a price that went up in July. Clients notice before you do, and some ask for the old price at the desk.

  2. Prices

The price list is a photo of the printed menu

What it costs. Unreadable on a phone, invisible to Google and wrong the day a price changes. Every "how much is a lash lift?" message is a question the site should have answered.

  3. Book button

Booking is a link at the bottom of the page

What it costs. A client who has already decided scrolls, loses patience and sends a DM instead, or books with the studio whose button she found first.

  4. Policies

The deposit policy turns up after the client pays

What it costs. A cancellation fee nobody read feels like a trap. It is harder to charge, easier to dispute and a common start to an awkward conversation.

  5. Google profile

The website and Google disagree about when you are open

What it costs. Two sets of hours means one of them is wrong. Clients turn up to a locked door, and the ones who spot the mismatch trust neither.

The same five, answered

Each screen above, built the way it should be. None of this is an add-on: it is what the one plan produces.

  1. Service menu

Up to 5 content edits a month, made for you. Send the new price list or the new team photo and it goes on the site instead of your to-do list.

  2. Prices

A typed treatment menu: name, time and price on one line, with patch tests and add-ons under the line they belong to.

  3. Book button

One Book button in the header of every page, going straight to Timely, Fresha, Phorest, Kitomba or whichever booking tool you use.

  4. Policies

A plain policy page linked beside the Book button: deposits, notice, late arrivals and patch tests, read before anyone commits.

  5. Google profile

Name, address and hours written once and kept identical to your Google Business Profile, changed in the same edit.

What changes at the front desk

Five plain changes. Nothing here is a promise about bookings or rankings, because those depend on your area, your reviews and your prices, not on us.

  • Your prices read the same wherever a client looks: the site, the booking screen and the printed card at reception.
  • New clients arrive knowing how long the appointment takes and what happens in it.
  • Deposits and cancellation notice are agreed before the booking instead of argued about after a no-show.
  • Your hours match your Google Business Profile, public holidays included.
  • Changing the menu costs you one message, not an evening: up to 5 edits a month are made for you.

The booking-ready board

Salon diaries are seasonal. This is what has to be live before the Christmas and formal-season rush, and what can wait until the diary eases off in February.

Live before the rush

  • The full treatment menu with times and prices, including the express services you only run in December.
  • Deposit and cancellation rules, sitting where they are read before the booking.
  • A Book button on every page, pointed at the right service in your booking tool.
  • The gift voucher page with its terms on it, before voucher season starts.
  • Late-night and public holiday hours, written the same way as on your Google profile.

Can wait for the quiet weeks

  • A page for each treatment you want to be found for, written when you have a quiet afternoon.
  • Team profiles with photos taken in decent light rather than under the lash lamp.
  • A gallery, once you have written consent from the clients whose work is shown.
  • Before-and-after images, once you have checked the rules that apply to your treatments.
  • Answers to the questions you keep repeating at the desk, written down once.

We build the left column first for that reason. The right column arrives as your monthly edits, when you have the photos and the words ready.

The same salon, a different website

What changes when the site is built around how clients actually book, and someone keeps it current.

  • BeforePrices live in a photo, a PDF and three Instagram highlights.

AfterOne typed treatment menu, the same wherever a client looks.

  • BeforeA new client asks "do I need a patch test?" by DM at ten at night.

AfterThe treatment page answers it, and new clients are pointed to the patch test first.

  • BeforeThe deposit rule is explained at the desk, after the no-show.

AfterThe policy sits beside every Book button and is read before anyone books.

  • BeforeChanging the Christmas hours means tracking down the old web designer.

AfterSend the change. It is one of your 5 monthly edits.

  • BeforeHosting, domain, SSL and a site builder on separate bills and logins.

AfterHosting, SSL and security updates in one monthly fee, with the domain in your name.

  • BeforeBefore-and-after photos posted with no record of consent.

AfterA gallery of work you confirm you have written consent to publish.

Quick on a phone, and built to be found

How the pages are built, and what we will not pretend to sell you.

Plain pages, very little script

Your site is built as static pages with almost nothing to download beyond the words and photos, which is what a client on a mobile connection between appointments actually needs.

Photos sized before they are published

Room, team and work photos are compressed and sized for the screen that asked for them, instead of a 4MB phone photo loading on 4G.

Built to the published targets

Pages are built against Google’s Core Web Vitals targets, such as a largest contentful paint within 2.5 seconds 2 and layout shift of 0.1 2 or less. Your photos and your visitors’ connections decide the real numbers, so no score is promised.

A page worth finding for each treatment

Search engines match pages, not businesses. A treatment with its own page, a clear title and your suburb written in plain text has something to match; a line on a price list has not. Nobody can promise a position, and we do not.

From the call to a live site

Four appointments. Only the first is a call, and the monthly fee starts when your site goes live.

What you will not find on this page

Every website studio shows quotes from happy clients. Here is why this one does not.

No testimonials until they are real

This studio is new and has no salon clients to quote. When it does, the words will be from a named business that agreed to them, not written here and labelled as an example.

Judge us on what is on the site

The sample salons are complete pages you can read, the plan terms are the whole agreement, and every figure in our notes links to the source it came from.

What we will not do

Write your clinical or treatment content, invent reviews, run ads, or publish a photo of a client before you confirm you have their written consent.

Questions owners ask before the call

Six of them here, the rest on the questions page.

What does the monthly fee actually cover?

A website for your salon, built from your content and kept running: your treatment menu with prices, pages for your main treatments, team, gallery, hours and location, a Book button on every page linked to your booking tool, and a deposit and cancellation policy clients read before they book. Every month you also get hosting, an SSL certificate, security updates, up to 5 content edits and a report of the enquiries the site received.

How much does the salon website plan cost?

A$249 a month plus a one-off setup fee of A$499, GST may apply. There is one plan and one price for every salon. In the first year that comes to A$3,487 before any GST, and A$2,988 a year after that if you stay on.

Will the website bring me more bookings or rank on Google?

No one can honestly promise that, and we don't. The plan gives you a fast, mobile-friendly site with your menu, prices, policies and booking button, kept current each month. How many people find it and book depends on your area, your reviews, your Google Business Profile and the rest of your marketing.

Do you sell the plan to hairdressers or barbers?

The plan is the same for any salon, but the pages and examples on this site are written for beauty businesses: skin, brows, lashes, nails and laser. If you run a hair salon, book a call and we will tell you honestly whether the site suits the way your clients book.

How quickly will my website be live?

Within 14 days of us receiving everything on the content checklist: your treatment list and prices, photos you have the right to use, opening hours, address or service area, booking link and policies. If something is missing, we tell you what, and the 14 days start once it arrives.

Does it work with my booking system?

Yes. Most salons already use a booking tool such as Timely, Fresha, Phorest or Kitomba. We add your booking link to the Book button on every page and, where your tool provides an embed, can place its booking widget on a page. The booking tool subscription stays with you and is not part of the plan.

Start with a call. Decide after it.

One plan: A$249 a month and A$499 setup, GST may apply, 12-month minimum term. Bring your menu and your booking link. Nothing is signed on the call.
